Green Mountain Reservoir / Heeney

One of Summit County’s best kept secrets. Surrounded by spectacular mountain views of the dramatic Gore Range and the Williams Peak Range.

In the summer it is a boater’s playground – fishing boats, jet skiing, water-skiing and pontoon cruising are all popular. Although trout fishing is very good, the reservoir is best known for its excellent kokanee salmon, some of the biggest in the state and snagging is permitted from September through December.

The winter offers huge lake trout to the patient ice fishermen. The Gold Medal Trout Waters of the Blue River, that feeds the reservoir, challenge fly-fishermen almost year-round.
