Ferndale

Ferndale is located off I-5 in the northern most part of this region, next door to Bellingham to the northwest and southeast of Blaine and the Canadian border.

Activities are plentiful in this area, especially the Scottish Highland Games in June and the Old Settlers Pioneer Days Picnic held in July. Be sure to attend the Civil War Re-enactment Labor Day Weekend. One place to see is the Hovander Homestead. The 1903 restored home is part of a large park encompassing an interpretive center, barn, mail-house, children’s farm zoo, gardens and picnic sites. The home and barn are furnished with antiques and vintage equipment.
